MEK Homes is owned and operated by Matt Kruger, a longtime Austin resident with deep family roots in the city. Matt grew up learning the value of hard work and responsible business ownership. As a child, he worked behind the counter at his grandfather’s jewelry store on Congress Avenue and spent time at his other grandfather’s commercial and residential construction company.

After earning a Master of Social Work from Tulane University, Matt worked as a child, adolescent, and family therapist in Charlotte, North Carolina. He later transitioned into residential construction, spending three years with a production homebuilder, where he learned every stage of the building process and the importance of strong customer service.

Matt returned to Austin in 2000 and began working in custom homebuilding and real estate. In 2007, he founded MEK Homes to provide construction and remodeling services throughout Austin, including Tarrytown, Rollingwood, Westlake, Barton Creek, Northwest Hills, Bryker Woods, South Austin, Allandale, and East Austin.

Matt brings extensive construction experience, local market knowledge, and a trusted network of skilled tradespeople to every project. He is committed to honest communication, dependable service, sound value, and work completed with professionalism and care.
